Loremaster
Since making some huge changes in my gaming experience, I’ve rededicated myself somewhat to the parts of the game I enjoy the most. Achievements have become a larger part of why I play now and the mother of all (solo) achievements is Loremaster. I began working on it several weeks ago, maybe as much as a month, and it’s been a long haul. I never realized what a huge undertaking it is!!
Still, its been incredibly fun and now I have something to share…
Does this tabard make me look fat? Ha! I kid, I finished the Loremaster achievements last week!! I was so happy to be done with it, I thought I’d never want to see another quest marker — of course, I was wrong, as I’m now working on leveling my baby Pally!! Along the way, I managed to get Seeker, which is about 10 quests easier than Loremaster and comes at just the right moment. When I got Seeker, I was wondering if it was possible to finish Kalimdor for my Loremaster Achievement. Getting Seeker re-dedicated me to getting those last 10 or so quests to finish. It lit a fire under me, I suppose you could say. I wore the Seeker title until I got Loremaster.
Then there was the tabard… I’m not, or wasn’t, terribly fond of the tabard. I put it on for that screenie and then took it off and packed it away in the bank. I love my Tabard of the Summer Skies, it matches my armor exactly (as I’m still sporting Naxx gear) so I put it back on and went about my way. The Loremaster’s Colors represent everything I’d worked for, Loveth wanted to see it on me, so I put it back on and while looking at it, it occurred to me that I’d worked my tail off for (no pun intended) it. Since then, I’ve worn it and its grown on me. What’s more appropriate for Loremaster than a huge quest marker? Nothing I can think of!
Along the way, I found that some zones are much easier than others. I began with Eastern Kingdoms. I love Eastern Kingdoms and I know the zones well, so I was confident I could complete that continent without much trouble. I was right, I finished it with quests to spare. From there, I traversed Northrend, which was fairly simple, even though I began Icecrown with 0/140 quests complete. I found the Outlands to be harder than either Eastern Kingdoms or Northrend, as I don’t think Blizzard thought it out well. Netherstorm has dozens of quests left over after the achievement, but Shadowmoon Valley and Negrand make you scrape and claw you way to completion. Then, I went to Kalimdor, the last continent. I was at about 320/700 when I started there, and it was looking pretty good until I got within 100 quests of completion. At that point, it started to get harder… and harder… until I thought it was impossible to do 700 quests on that continent. I was at my wits end. The last 10 quests in Kalimdor took me almost an entire day! I had done all of Icecrown in less than 24 hours, all 140 of them, and here Kalimdor was, taking just as long for 10 measly quests!!
My best friend, Jandyse, (whose priest is on Kilrogg, but plays a Pally by the same name on Silvermoon) who has done the achievement on her priest, was a great encouragement!! She helped me to finish and was grouped with me when I got the achievement. She /cheered me on in a big way, which helped enormously!! Sometimes, having a cheerleader can make insurmountable odds seems less daunting. If you’ve done this achievement, you know what I’m talking about!
All the while, Loveth and Jandyse’s husband, Anddrol, were shaking their heads and cheering me on. Loveth tells me he will never have Loremaster, he’s not so much a fan of questing as he is leveling up. So, he quests, but not because he enjoys it. As he use to play SWG, where grinding was the name of the game, questing doesn’t do it for him.
I smile every time I look at Majeste now, knowing that I’ve achieved something awesome!! Of course, now I’m also a little lost, wondering what to do next. So, I roamed around, got my Diplomat title by grinding Timbermaw rep, to go with my Sporregar and Kurenei reps. I got my Little Fawn, pet. But overall, I’m wondering what to do next. So, while I think it over, I’m leveling Gloryee, my baby pally, who I absolutely love!!!
On one final note, I have some things I’d like to say about the next expansion and all the stuff going on in game, but for now, I leave you with this post. See ya soon!!

Grats on the achievement! I never got around to starting my journey to Loremaster yet, but always wanted to. I get bored easily, and tend to give up on these long achievements.

Thank you, Tuna! I tend to get bored with it easily, too, which is why I started it then stopped. This time, I managed to get it done and felt pretty darn good about my achievement!

WOW!!! Loveth needs to take you out for a drink over that achievement! I’ve considered it for a long time but haven’t got the drive. I finally managed to get my Explorer titles. The only thing that drove me to that is the remote possibility that the title might go away with the destruction almost every frickin zone in Azeroth!
Hmmmm, I wonder if that achievement has the possibility of going away post-expansion? I can’t imagine those quests will still be available. Who knows. Hell, Aur doesn’t really do anything substantial anyway. Maybe she will give it a shot.
Can’t WAIT to hear the official MAE review of Cataclysm. I’m waiting with baited breath!

Grats on Loremaster! It’s such a long and tiresome acheivement. After getting it myself a few months ago I lost focus on achievements in the game. I lost focus on pretty much anything and havent played much at all lol. But today I was gonna log on and level one of my toons when low and behold bwr was ‘down for something stupid.’ So I decided to log onto silvermoon and do something I’ve been planning to do for awhile, because I’m a huge fan of pointless and hilarious antics. You should check out the mailbox in front of the stormwind auction house to see what I’m talking about.
